About the event

What have we learned about love, power, protection, and partnership—and what have those lessons cost us?

For the fourth gathering of KEPT: Intergenerational Healing of Black Women, we're widening the conversation.

Black people (men, women, and non-binary) across generations are invited into a thoughtfully held community conversation exploring mistrust, resentment, protection, longing, gender roles, and the ways survival has shaped how we relate to one another.

This is not a conversation about blame or deciding who has caused more harm. It's an opportunity to get curious about the patterns we've inherited, the ways we've learned to protect ourselves, and how those protections can sometimes make connection harder.

Through guided reflection, honest conversation, and intergenerational dialogue, we'll explore survival-based toxicity while making room for the complexity of Black relationships, gender, family, and community.

Real people. Honest conversations. One sacred space.
