About the event

Part of the KEPT: Intergenerational Healing of Black Women series, Our Bodies Remember invites Black women of all ages into a shared space of reflection, compassion, and connection.


For generations, Black women's bodies have been sites of survival, strength, beauty, labor, resistance, celebration, and scrutiny. The stories we've inherited about our bodies have shaped how we move through the world, how we care for ourselves, and how we relate to one another across generations.


This immersive experience blends storytelling, embodied reflection, and facilitated conversation to explore the messages our bodies have carried—and the wisdom they continue to hold. Together, we'll consider how expectations around appearance, productivity, caregiving, rest, and resilience have evolved over time, while making space for curiosity instead of judgment.


Rather than asking whose experience was harder, Our Bodies Remember invites us to ask what each generation needed to survive, what each generation longed for, and what healing…
